Gender & Dating Relationships
I think that this article states valid points about the expectations of proposals and marriages. Women typically expect men to propose because that is a very commonly used tradition. If it were the other way around, the couple's relatives and friends might question the normalcy of their relationship. However, I think that this expectation is not solely the woman's fault, because men expect it to be that way too. The love story I wrote about is similar to this because like most couples, my dad proposed to my mom. In my opinion, it doesn't really matter which person in a relationship proposes, as long as they agree that it is what they want and truly love each other.

Human Sexuality
After reading Human Sexuality: 'Wonderful Gift' and 'Awesome Responsibility' by Richard Sparks, I realized that I already knew most of the messages the Catholic Church teaches about sexuality. However, I definitely do not agree with all of them. The Church believes that homosexuality is morally wrong, but in my opinion, people should be able to love whoever they want, regardless of gender. Another thing I don’t agree with is their belief that birth control is wrong. I think it is smart for people to use birth control to avoid unwanted pregnancies where the baby wouldn’t be properly taken care of. I think the author of this article covered all the topics well enough, even though I don’t necessarily agree with them.

I will strive to achieve greatness. I will always try my hardest. I will be there for my family. I will be willing to listen. I will love unconditionally. I will use my talents to better the world. I will accept my path. I will become the person I am meant to be.

Identity
Sports have always been a huge part of my life. Ever since I was little, they have provided me with a fun pastime as well as an outlet. I played many different kinds growing up, but my favorite has always been ice hockey. After devoting so much time to it throughout the years, I definitely feel that playing hockey has shaped me into the person I am today. It has taught me some very valuable lessons: teamwork is essential, winning isn't always everything, and giving up should never be an option. Even today, there is no greater feeling to me than stepping onto the ice.
It all started with Halo. I will never forget where I was or what I was doing the first time I heard it. The song instantly became a huge hit, but to me, it meant so much more than that. There are no words for what Beyonce's lyrics do to me. They have the ability to change my mood unlike anything else. It may sound crazy, but her songs have honestly helped me get through some of the hardest times of my life. Besides her music, I admire her example of being a strong, independent woman. She is someone who I will always aspire to be like, and has changed my life for the better.
3 years ago, I wasn't exactly excited to start high school. I was very nervous to leave the only school I had ever known. Looking back now, I can't imagine my life without the Mount. I don't know where I would be without all the friends I've made and everything I've learned since coming here. I am very grateful for the opportunity to go to school at the Mount because I know there are many people who aren't as fortunate. The experiences I've had from being a part of this community have taught me so much, and I know the memories will last a lifetime.
